27th November 2025
from a rainy café (Scottish Highlands)
Dear you,
I finally bought a TV table yesterday.
Since we are changing around the format of our Tiny Home, we now have space for some extra furniture in the living nook. Although we don’t watch much TV, my partner is keen to have one in our home this time round and, like the lovely person I am, I’ve relented.
I’ve been scouring Facebook Marketplace for weeks, trying to find a table that would work. We knew we wanted a wooden one but were also keen to nab a bargain, so real wood was unlikely. After a couple of near misses, where two perfect tables slipped through my fingers, I’d gotten into the habit of checking Marketplace every day. But the perfect table remained elusive.
In the end, I found this table in a charity shop. I’d gone up to Inverness to run errands, including dropping three boxes full of donations to charity. I’ve discovered that nothing makes you feel more like a maximalist as moving does. Its quite astounding how many items can be stashed away in cupboards, even for someone who treats decluttering as a hobby.
