Junk journaling into winter 📓
The perfect slow hobby for this cosy season ❄️
I create these Friday posts exclusively for my paid Substack members, which also includes video tea times, slow letters, seasonal book reviews and nature writing. In this post, I share my journey as a beginner artist, where I provide details on the art projects I’m currently working on, alongside material’s I’ve used and resources I’ve enjoyed.

Snow is forecast next week, which means winter has officially arrived in the Scottish Highlands.
Last winter is when I really started getting into junk journaling. After years of trying different creative hobbies, I’d finally found one that sticks.
Junk journaling is affordable, easy to fit into my days, doesn’t require a huge amount of materials nor much artistic skill. I love the fact that, when I’ve finished a page, it takes me less than 5 minutes to pack everything away again, which is a must for living in a Tiny Home.
I truly think that this is a hobby anyone can enjoy, so this month I’ve put together a post to get you started, including info on the benefits of winter journaling, how I create a cosy journal set up, my favourite materials and some spread prompts to get you started.
Enjoy…
